Our Story

IDC opened for business in 2003 to support customers with intralogistics and warehousing operations in UK and Europe. The engineering, Management and IT team have a broad range of skills including electrical and electronic design engineers, PLC controls, database and software developers. The team is supported by project managers with an in-depth knowledge of intralogistics and warehouse operations to advise customers on automation and WMS solutions.

Our solutions are based on standard software and hardware components that can be customised to meet the client’s requirements.

Our policy is to retain all knowledge and expertise in-house, ensuring we can support our customers without recourse to 3rd party suppliers and subcontractors. For customers with critical business systems, we offer a range of tailored support contracts from office hours telephone support to 24 x 7 engineer on standby for reassurance we are always available on the rare occasion you may need it.

Our offices are centrally located in the midlands, on the outskirts of Derby. We have longstanding links with Loughborough & Derby Universities and have undertaken several R&D Projects together. Several of our engineers graduated from Derby University and now hold key positions within the company.

Research & Development

Our business approach from the start has been to continually seek to improve and develop our products and solutions in partnership with Loughborough and Derby University, having worked on several R&D projects which have been supported through the Technology Strategy Board and iNET.
